From Jonathan

A few things he forgot to mention about this upcoming Tuesday’s meeting.

1) We will be working on Splinting. So he needs all Scouts who are attending to bring something for splinting practice. Splints can be anything rigid: Cardboard, a small stack of newspaper, a sturdy stick (1″ diameter), etc. Check your handbook for some extra ideas. Also, bring your neckerchief again. Oh yeah, bring some padding material, old T-shirts, old towels, etc. Again, refer to your handbook.

2) Scouts, Speaking of your handbook, he would recommend you read the First Aid chapter. You will need to know most of the information in there for this months skills and campout.

3) Scouts, if you are planning on attending the July campout to Donner State Park, start thinking about your menu. Be prepared Tuesday night to spend 30 – 45 minutes of the meeting planning your menu, duty roster, cooking supplies, etc.

4) Parents, if you or your son is planning to attend the campout, he will be taking money to reserve camp spots ($7.50 a person) this Tuesday. We can discuss our menu as well.

5) Oh yeah, any older Scouts out there who are not going to Summer Camp, please come on out to the Troop meeting anyway. We will work on First Aid Splinting, Carries, etc. Jonathan can use your help instructing.
Also, If there are older scouts who want to go on the campout on July 25-27, let him know. Spaces are filling up VERY fast. In fact, he is almost out of spots. First come, first serve. We will have fun, we will learn, but most importantly, we will enjoy ourselves while we our out there.

He thinks that is all for now.
